LISBON – The Lumiares Hotel & Spa in Lisbon, Portugal, has been named one of the world’s best boutique hotels.

The 5-star hotel and spa, located in the heart of Lisbon’s Bairro Alto neighborhood, earned the top spot in the category of “Best Rooftop City Views.”

A former 18th century palace which was converted into a stylish space paying homage to Lisbon’s golden light and bohemian charm, The Lumiares Hotel & Spa sits across the Miradouro de Santa Catarina, one of the city’s best viewpoints.

Created in collaboration with Portugal’s local brands, makers and artists, the hotel’s 47 apartment-style rooms are designed to combine the luxury of a 5-star hotel with all the home comforts.

The winners of the Boutique Hotel Awards 2022 were announced Nov. 8 in London. Honoring boutique hotels from London’s Shoreditch district to California, and shortlisted by a panel of travel experts, the awards reveal the very best places for discerning travelers to visit in 2023.
