Copper Mountain Ski Resort is excited to unveil its uphill access for the 2023-2024 season, offering a unique chance for enthusiasts to traverse its magnificent landscape through specific routes. Starting Friday, December 22, 2023, Routes 1 to 6 and 8 will be open for uphill travel. Note that Route 7 will stay closed until it’s safe to traverse. Please be aware that Route 1 will not be accessible on December 23 and December 31.
Holders of Copper Season Pass and Ikon Pass can access these routes as a part of their pass benefits, but they must register first. Uphill armbands and slips are available at the Mammut Store located in Center Village. If you have a yellow armband from the 22/23 season, you only need to pick up a new slip for the 23/24 season. For those without a yellow armband or new to the program, there is a $5 fee for the armband.

Copper Mountain proudly presents the Uphill Challenge Series, a collaborative effort with Mammut. This series invites skiers of all skill levels to participate in various exciting challenges, catering to Skimo aficionados, HeavyMetal fans, and Split Boarding enthusiasts.
Challenge 1 – Saturday, January 27: Journey from Center Village to PHQ at 6:30 am.
Challenge 2 – Saturday, February 24: Trek from West Village to the peak of Timberline at 6:30 am.
Mammut Stampede Series – Saturday, March 16: Start from Center Village to the summit of Rendezvous at 6:30 am.
Copper Cup – Saturday, April 20: An adventurous route from Center Village to PHQ, Spaulding Ridge, Lillie-G, and back, beginning at 4:30 pm.
Event sign-up and Parking details:
Each race requires a $25 registration fee, or you can sign up for all four challenges at $75. These races are open to everyone. For parking, Copper Mountain’s interior lots offer free parking for Uphill Access participants until 8:30 am. Make sure to get a parking hangtag at guest services when you collect your armband. Post 8:30 am, parking fees apply and can be paid via the QR code on the lot signs. Unpaid vehicles risk getting a ticket or being towed.

You can rent uphill gear at the Mammut Store in Center Village. Copper Mountain also offers uphill lessons throughout the season. If you’re curious about backcountry skiing or snowboarding but unsure where to start, the Private Uphill Tours are perfect.
