GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The City of Grand Rapids’ Parks and Recreation department has extended several of its free outdoor fitness classes through September, officials said Monday, Aug. 24.
Six of the department’s dance, cardio and yoga classes will continue to run through Saturday, Sept. 26.
“We know how important these fitness opportunities are to our community,” said John Judnich, recreation supervisor, in a press release. “We want to continue to provide ways for community members to stay active and connected during COVID-19.”
Guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 will remain in place. Participation limits will help enforce social distancing of six feet from those not in the same household.
Participants must bring their own supplies including a yoga mat, water bottle and towel. Masks are not required during the classes but are encouraged when arriving and leaving. Any individuals who are feeling ill should stay home.
